March 2024 General Meeting Minutes

General Meeting

13th March, 2024
Held at Lakeside Golf Club

The meeting was opened at 6.29 pm

Welcome & President’s Report Anne Parnham, President

Anne welcomed everyone to the meeting including Life Member Tony Perich AM and his wife Cathy, members of Camden Council. Anne also welcomed all members, their guests and our speaker for the evening Lucy Bloom.

Anne thanked all the sponsors for being part of The Greater Narellan Business Chamber.

Anne noted:

  • that the Chamber is a not-for-profit organisation made up entirely of volunteers and there isn’t anyone standing to gain financially from being on the Board;
  • she introduced the members of the Board and asked them to stand so that members could recognise them if they have any matters to raise;
  • We are currently looking for a secretary director please see me after the meeting if you are interested.
  • We are currently looking for a   sponsorship director please see me after the meeting if you are interested.
  • There are expressions of interest papers on your tables if you are interested in either of these positions. These will be only until our AGM in September when formal voting will be carried out. So if you want to test to see how you go the next 5 months would be a great time to see if you enjoy being part of the team.
  • There are pamphlets on your table to see what is happening with our chamber.
  • Our secretary’s report is on our website and our financial report is on your table for you to look over and if you have any questions please refer to our treasurer karina roach.
  • A lot of members do not have their business details on our website. So please when you have a moment go to the website and enter your details so other members can contact you. There is no point just putting your name there only. I would like to remind you all that we have our Facebook and Instagram and LinkedIn pages that you can all join especially the members only Facebook page where you can put items of interest for other members to see.
  • We had our thank god it’s Friday at Gregory Hills hotel which was well attended and a reminder that we have another one soon.
  • Last week was international women’s day on the 8th march and I represented Narellan Chamber at 3 events. First one was with Coleman Greig solicitors at Oatlands house with Lisa Curry as the speaker. The next one was with Camden Council at Gledswood Winery with Dr Jana Pittman as speaker and the last one was at parramatta with the university of western sydney where our admin assistant Carlene Cardona was a finalist in the overall community award.
  • Next month camden council will be hosting us for our general meeting at the council chambers at oran park and they will be having small tours of the chambers so if you want to join us on the tours could you please let me know asap.
