September 2024 Annual General Meeting Minutes
Annual General Meeting
11 September 2024
Held at Lakeside Golf Club Camden
The meeting was opened at 6.45pm.
Welcome – Roland Blackstone, Vice President
Roland welcomes the life members, sponsors and panel. Confirmed Sandy Barlett is stepping out and going to focus on her role with IC Care. Confirmed that yesterday Roland went to a Lifeline Australia event. At the lunch in Sydney the day prior, the former opposition leader for the liberal party was present and shared the book, Profiles in Hope – John Brogden which talks about surviving suicide and ways to deal with it. Tonight’s topic is talking about serious things. If it’s the case that what resonates with members makes you feel uncomfortable or you need some time, feel free to leave room. Carl from Talk2me bro had cards with the details and numbers of service providers. Thank you to Sandy for putting the Panel together.
Sandy was brought up to say a few words. Sandy said ‘it wasn’t an easy decision to step off. It’s my turn to take my journey to the next level. I have been at IC Care for the last 13 years when I started as a board member. Three years ago, I became the Chair of the Board. I get quite emotional speaking about it as I am dealing with aged care recipients. We recently had a story on ACA with regards to Meals on Wheels, and have a petition going where I would ask for the members support in signing the petition. The Meals on Wheels services in Wollondilly have had to close their services because there is not enough funding.’
Roland presented Sandy with thank you gift.
Roland also thanked Anne for her contribution, in her absence and noted that we will arrange to have her gift provided to her.
