SUMMARY:March 2026 General Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join The Greater Narellan Business Chamber for an inspiring and practical evening with Lisa McGuigan\, one of Australia’s most respected business leaders. Hear firsthand insights on leadership\, innovation\, and building resilient brands\, with takeaways you can apply immediately to your own business. Connect with local business owners\, grow your network\, and be motivated by a speaker who truly understands what it takes to succeed. \nLisa McGuigan is the fourth generation of the famous Hunter Valley winemaking family\, following in the footsteps of her father Brian\, grandfather Perc and great-grandfather Owen. \nCreative\, entrepreneurial\, and ambitious\, her journey to becoming a winemaker wasn’t a direct path. Lisa forged a long and successful career in the hospitality industry\, her last role seeing her move closer to her roots as the Head Wine Buyer at a prestigious 5-star hotel in Sydney. \nReturning to the Hunter and the family business in the mid-1990’s\, Lisa had the idea to launch a new wine brand and destination cellar door\, one which would ultimately become one of Australia’s most successful and recognisable wine brands – Tempus Two. Tempus Two turned ten in 2007 and sells over 100\,000 cases globally every year. The same year Lisa decided to take a new direction and invest in a new venture\, a retail wine business\, Lisa’s Wine Vaults which she successfully ran for over 5 years. \nIn 2010 Lisa passion for wine was reignited and Lisa McGuigan Wines was born. The brand is a culmination of Lisa experience and represents a new era\, creating her collection her way and on her own terms. \nThe collection continues to go from strength to strength and in 2019 she launched the home of Lisa McGuigan Wines – Vamp in her hometown Pokolbin. \nTo open her own venue has been a dream for over 10 years and in her own words is one of her proudest achievements. \nVamp by Lisa McGuigan brings together her love of wine\, fashion\, design and of course 5-star hospitality!

SUMMARY:February 2026 General Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Chamber’s February 2026 networking event for an exclusive opportunity to hear Belinda McCarthy\, the powerhouse entrepreneur behind Cobbitty Equine. Discover how she built a multi-award-winning enterprise from the ground up\, gain practical strategies for business growth\, and connect with like-minded professionals. Don’t miss this chance to learn\, network\, and be inspired! \nBelinda McCarthy is a leading figure in the Australian equine industry\, known for her entrepreneurial vision\, resilience\, and passion for building world-class operations from the ground up. Born and raised in Canowindra\, Belinda grew up on a 1\,600-acre horse stud where her family managed up to 400 horses alongside sheep and cropping enterprises. This busy and hands-on upbringing laid the foundation for her lifelong connection to horses and business. \nHighly active in her local community and sport from a young age\, Belinda dreamed big and left country life at 18 to pursue tertiary studies. She moved to Brisbane to complete a dual degree at QUT in Public Relations\, Marketing and Human Movement\, graduating with both Business and Teaching qualifications. \nBelinda’s early career combined global travel\, marketing roles within Queensland harness racing\, and teaching Physical Education at Beaudesert High School. She continued working hands-on in racing stables before relocating to Sydney in 2011\, where a major turning point followed. \nTogether with her partner Luke\, Belinda purchased Candy Lodge at Cobbitty\, transforming it over the past 15 years into one of Australia’s premier training\, rehabilitation and pre-training facilities\, and later an international stallion centre. As leading trainers and drivers in New South Wales\, Belinda and Luke have won multiple training premierships and elite races\, including the prestigious Miracle Mile\, alongside major industry awards such as The First Lady. \nBelinda is also renowned for training the legendary pacer King Of Swing\, the only horse to win three Miracle Miles\, now honoured with a grandstand named after him at Club Menangle. \nWhat began as an “accidental” venture into stallion services became a defining business success. Following the rehabilitation of champion racehorse Bling It On\, Belinda established Cobbitty Equine Farm\, now the leading standardbred stud in NSW and the second largest in Australasia. Over the past eight years\, the operation has serviced more than 5\,000 mares across Australia and New Zealand. \nA strategic thinker and hands-on leader\, Belinda personally designed\, built and manages a state-of-the-art quarantine facility—one of a kind in NSW. With access to major transport infrastructure\, including the new Western Sydney Airport\, she continues to diversify her operations and expand into new equine markets. \nBelinda’s story is one of regional roots\, global ambition\, and innovative business growth—making her a powerful and inspiring voice for business\, leadership and entrepreneurship.

SUMMARY:October 2025 General Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Mike Munro’s journey from monastery childhood to television stardom is one of Australian media’s most compelling stories. Raised by Marist Brothers after his mother fled an abusive marriage\, Munro discovered his calling when she suggested journalism at age 13. Starting as a copy boy at 17\, he spent a decade in newspapers\, including two transformative years in New York. \nDespite twice rejecting television offers\, Munro finally made the leap working with Michael Willesee. This decision launched an extraordinary career that saw him become one of the original reporters on 60 Minutes\, host A Current Affair and This Is Your Life on Nine Network\, then founding host of Sunday Night on Seven Network. \nIn recent years\, Munro has focused on documentary work for the History Channel and authored his second book\, The Last Bushrangers\, exploring the story of his great uncles\, one of whom was executed at Brisbane’s Boggo Road jail in 1903. His contributions to journalism and charity were recognised in 2014 when he was made a Member of the Order of Australia. \nFrom the personal tragedy that shaped his early years to becoming one of Australia’s most respected television journalists\, Munro’s career spans the golden age of Australian current affairs television.
